How to get involved and shape Māori affairs

The New Zealand Māori Council is one of the nations oldest represenative groups and our focus is the wellbeing, health and development of our people. To help us to do this committees have been formed across Aotearoa that are led by District Māori Councils. At the national level an Executive of eight members plus a Chair guide and steer and national conversation. However, the heart and soul of New Zealand Māori Council is about our people, engaging with them, involving them in the process of policy development, guiding us on issues that keep them up at night, that concern and worry them.

As a Māori in the Auckland District you can have your say and have a voice when it comes to the key social issues of the day, of what is impacting our people and some of the solutions that we could build towards. From employment, housing, health and well-being to climate change, women's empowerment and more. To find out how you could get involved please get in touch.
